| Dr. Norine Noonan, RVC, Academic Affairs |
On behalf of the Office of Academic Affairs and our entire faculty I want to welcome you to the
University of South Florida St. Petersburg.
If you are visiting our website for the first time, I encourage you to explore our degree offerings
to find what you are passionate about. If you have been accepted and will join us soon or if you
are already a student, please know that we are committed to your success – both during your time
with us and in your future career.
We value our students as individuals and we hope to help you develop the habits of mind to
become a lifelong intentional learner. Our classes, most of which are less than 50 students,
enable strong and productive interactions between students and faculty. If you need more
flexible options with that same faculty interaction, check out our online classes. We value
academic excellence, so we will challenge you intellectually in the classroom, studio and
laboratory to stretch yourselves as learners. We know you will do your best to rise to that
challenge and we stand ready to support you if you need it. We value civic engagement –
which means that you will have opportunities to use your skills and knowledge in service to
your community as a part of your course of study. We value innovation, entrepreneurship, and
creativity through research and scholarship – both in you and in ourselves.
We are constantly exploring new and different ways of teaching, from online classes to intimate
studio environments to research in the field, to find those that are most effective, and we want
students to work with our faculty to create new knowledge in whatever way is appropriate to
your area of study.
We are so glad you have chosen USF St. Petersburg! Go forth and do good things.
