Arabic

السلام عليكو

Arabic or Modern Standard Arabic is the language spoken by more than 26 countries in North Africa and the Middle East. Spoken by almost 200 Million people, Arabic is ranked sixth on the league of the most spoken languages in the world. It is the language of the Quran, the Islamic Holy book. Arabic in considered a Central Semitic language like Hebrew and Aramaic.

Arabic is the official and formal language used in written documents, schools, universities, TV and Radio broadcast,  formal occasions like speeches, lectures and more. However every Arab State has its own Dialect or what is known as colloquial Arabic which originated from Arabic. Muslims in non Arab countries tend to speak Arabic for their religious bonds, in countries like India, the Philippines, Pakistan and others.     

Some of the Latin words came originally from Arabic like the work sugar (sukar سكر (. It is considered to be one of the ancient languages in History and it has affected many European languages throughout the years.
