CRIME ALERT! USF POLICE SERVICES CRIME ALERT BULLETIN #06-003
The purpose of crime alert bulletins is to inform campus citizens of incidents or activities occurring in the community that may pose a threat to their safety and security. ATTENTION:
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/ FIREARM OCCURRED: OFF CAMPUS, 700 BLOCK OF THIRD STREET SOUTH, ADJACENT TO POYNTER LIBRARY SPPD Report #2006-53821
On Monday 08/21/06 at approximately 10:17 p.m., a female USF employee and a male non-affiliate were riding their bicycles northbound at the above location. Two African American male subjects, also on bicycles and traveling in the same direction, rode up to them. One of the subjects produced what appeared to be a revolver from his pocket and pointed it at the victims. The victims immediately fled eastbound onto campus, while the subjects fled southbound on third street. The subjects were described as follows: Subject #1 was an African American male in his twenties, black shoulder length dread locks, wearing black shorts, armed with a revolver. Subject #2 was an African American male in his twenties, black short cropped hair, wearing black shorts and a white shirt. University Police Services has issued a B.O.L.O. for the subjects and placed a special watch on the third street corridor. ALWAYS remember, "Members of the campus community need to continually take precautions for their safety and protection." Persons having information about ANY criminal incidents or who see ANY suspicious activity on campus, are encouraged to IMMEDIATELY contact the University Police at 873-4140.
