Mrs. Hurst Bowl Fall 2012

The Women's team traveled to Dartmouth, NH for the Mrs. Hurst Regatta and were treated to the best 2 days of wind there in the last decade. NW winds gusting to 20+ knots on Saturday, and around 10 knots on Sunday. 22 teams participated, with twelve races in each division, plenty of capsizes! Abby Featherstone and Dominique Wright teamed up in A division, ending tied for 3rd, but losing the tie-breaker. Colleen Hartman and freshman Ali Yarbrough shared helming / crewing duties, ending up 17th. Overall the Bulls were 14th, not quite at their goal of top-10, but a strong showing considering the "B" team had rarely practiced together prior to the event. "It was a great opportunity to see what strengths and weaknesses we have early in the season, and how best to play to our strengths in upcoming events", from Coach Allison Jolly.
