USF COACHING STAFF
The goals of the USF sailing team coaches are to continue the tradition of strong team performances nationally, foster leadership skills in the experienced sailors, improve the skill levels of all sailors, recruit new members to ensure the future success of the team, promote the sport of sailing to the entire student body, and to develop a plan for replacing the current fleet of boats with new ones.
Tim King is from Tampa, Florida. As a youth, he sailed Optis and Club 420's, and raced on the nationally ranked Plant HS sailing team.
He was a member of the University of South Florida college team, and was named ICSA College All-American in 2007. He graduated with a degree in Psychology in 2009.
This is his first year with USF.
Allison Jolly is in her ninth year at USF. Born and raised in St. Petersburg, she has raced a wide variety of boats on Tampa Bay. Her primary focus, though, has been high-performance planing dinghies.
She won two Collegiate Women’s National Championship "A" division titles, two US Women’s Sailing Championship titles, and was twice named the US Yachtswoman of the Year.
The highlight of her sailing career was winning the first ever women's Olympic Sailing event at the 1988 Olympics in Korea, in 470's.
