To register for the Lifeguard Instructor Class follow these steps:

1. Go to website http://lifeguardinstructorclass.com

2. Copy the Registration form from the webpage into an email to Instructor Bob Donaghy at rdonaghy@tampabay.rr.com

3. Click on the ‘BUY NOW’ link to pay your class fee online by credit card.

4. A Red Cross link will then be emailed to you by the instructor where you can create a Red Cross Instructor account, register for the Blended Learning Online portion and pay your $35 Red Cross Fee.

When you have completed the 2 ½ hour Online portion of the class, print out the completion certificate, and bring it to your first live class session, and notify the instructor by email. You must successfully complete the Online portion at least 2 days before the first live class.

You must bring your USF Student, Staff or Alumni ID and your current Lifeguard Certification card or certificate to the first session, along with proof of age.

You must be a currently certified lifeguard and at least 17 years old.

The pre-course requirement on the first day is to pass the Red Cross Lifeguard pre-requisite swim test, and the rescue skill scenarios learned in the Lifeguard Course. The expectation is that by the end of this Lifeguard Instructor Course you will be able to demonstrate all of the skills to the standard, not just to the objective as in the Lifeguard Course, since you will be demonstrating these skills to new Lifeguarding students when you teach a Lifeguard Course. You will need to make these improvements on your own as this is not a remedial course.

The books, Lifeguarding Manual and Lifeguard Instructor Manual, will be available for your use during class for the practice teaching sessions. You may either download a free pdf copy from the Red Cross Website or purchase a print copy for use after the class. Training resuscitation masks will be available for your use during class or you may choose to bring your own or purchase a new one for yourself.

USF Student: $200
USF Alumni and Staff: $225
General Public: $250

All class sessions are at the USF St. Petersburg Waterfront facility.

Please refer any questions to Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer Bob Donaghy at 813-334-7412. It is suggested that you call the instructor before registering to make sure there is still space in the class.
