SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM - We are offering one session of our Junior Lifeguarding Guard Start camp, four sessions of Summer Splash Camps, and we are launching four sessions of our exciting newest addition to our program lineup, the Junior Bulls Watercraft Operator camps. Each camp runs from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday unless otherwise specified; ages & maximum enrollment vary on the specific program. All camps are conducted by background screened and certified waterfront instructors at USFSP and on Tampa Bay waters.
Guard Start Junior Lifeguard/Watercraft Camp: June 10 - June 14
Throughout this 5-day program, USFSP Waterfront GuardStart participants will be introduced to a foundation of aquatic and leadership knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Included in the camp are field trips and an overnight stay aboard our large sailboats. Parents will be provided with a tentative schedule on the first day of the camp, and a detailed schedule of the overnight trip before the trip date. Youth ages 12 - 14 are eligible to participate and must have advanced swimming skills.
Splash Camp: FULL
There will be four independent one-week-long camps, with sessions starting June 18, June 25, July 9 and July 16. Youth ages 8 - 11 are eligible to participate. The camps are designed to bring environmental, water safety awareness & fitness to children in a variety of settings. Throughout the week, campers will experience various water-related skill development activities, including snorkeling, kayaking, canoeing, sailing and swimming. Campers will also set sail to a variety of locations, including: Weedon Island, Egmont Key, Ft. Desoto, Coast Guard and more! A general schedule of camp events will be provided to parents at the beginning of each camp.
Junior Bulls Watercraft Operator: Various Weeks
There will consist of four independent week long sessions where campers will learn how to safely launch, drive, and dock Caribe motorized rescue boats as well as rig and sail our fleet of Flying Junior sailboats, the same boats on which our competitive Sailing Team trains! At the end of each session, campers who effectively demonstrate required safe boating skills and knowledge will be eligible to become certified to earn their Florida Boater Education Card AND US Powerboating’s Safe Powerboat Handling certification. During the JR Bulls Watercraft Operator week, campers will also get to experience a variety of other water related activities such as navigating our waterfront vessels, snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, and off campus boat trips.

Session V: JR Bulls Watercraft Operator - Ages 15-17 years old (Max enroll 18) July 15-19
