Scuba Diving Instruction

The SCUBA Diving Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses are taught by Aquatic Obsessions.

Beginning Open Water Instruction: This course provides participants with SDI certification.  Classes are structured with both pool and classroom sessions, followed by a weekend of open water dives at Crystal River and Rainbow River or the Florida Keys. Session I:
Monday, May 20th , 6pm to 9:30pm First Class (Orientation & Handouts)
Saturday, May 25th, 8am-6pm Second Class (Return Paperwork & Pool Session)
Sunday, May 26th, 8am-6pm TBA (Make-up date, if needed)

Session II:
Friday, June 21st , 6pm to 9:30pm First Class (Orientation & Handouts)
Saturday, June 29th, 8am-6pm Second Class (Return Paperwork & Pool Session)
Sunday, June 30th, 8am-6pm TBA (Make-up date, if needed )

Session III:
Thursday, July 18th, 6pm to 9:30pm First Class (Orientation & Handouts)
Saturday, July 27th, 8am-6pm Second Class (Return Paperwork & Pool Session)
Sunday, July 28th, 8am-6pm TBA (Make-up date, if needed )

Advanced Open Water: This certification combines classroom sessions with training dives to FL Keys. Please click here for additional information and the advanced open water schedule.

Classroom Sessions:
Monday, June 24th, 7pm-9:30pm First Class (Orientation & Lecture)
Monday, July 1st, 7pm-9:30pm Second Class (Lecture)
Monday, July 8th, 7pm-9:30pm Third Class (Lecture)

FL Keys Dive Trip Fees:

Three Days & Two Nights stay in Deluxe Condos (up to six per condo) with Four Training Dives.
Included dives are: TWO shallow reef dives on Saturday. ONE DEEP reef dive on Sunday and ONE
shallow reef dive on Sunday.

*Trip fees need to be paid by July 21st . Trip fees will be forfeited if cancellation is not made
in writing by July 24th

Training Dives for AOW Class: Fri. July 12
Florida Keys (Hotel Check In) Sat. July 13
Florida Keys (Two dives at 8am or 1pm) Sat. July 13
Florida Keys (One Night dive at @ 7pm) Sun. July 14
Florida Keys (Two dives at 8am or 1pm and check out)

Florida Keys Dive for 3 days and 2 nights - Dive & Accommodations Fees:
Six per condo USFSP Student = $259; Non-Student = $289
Five per condo USFSP Student = $269; Non-Student = $299
All trips are plus Keys Resort tax of 12.5%

*Add an additional $65 per diver for those doing the Saturday Night Dive.
