Watercraft Program Haney Landing Sailing Center Most Watercraft Programming takes place at the Haney Landing Sailing Center, located adjacent to the Coquina building. Kayaks and canoes are stored on land near a floating ramp while 30 sailing dinghies are cradled on our floating dock. Six of the largest sailboats are kept in the water. Sailing The USF St. Petersburg Waterfront maintains almost 40 sailboats from 13-37 feet in length. Opportunities exist for the person that has never been on a boat before to the seasoned sailor ready for overnight sailing adventures. Our premier dock facility was completely redone in 2010 and can support multiple sailing activities simultaneously.
Kayaking and Canoeing One of the most popular things to do at the Waterfront is to check out a kayak. It is a great activity to do between classes or if you are looking for a great way to spend a nice day outside. The Waterfront features kayaks by Ocean Kayak. These kayaks are "sit on top" design. They are completely sealed so they cannot sink even if you manage to flip one over. They are also self draining if any water comes over the top. No experience is necessary. These kayaks are very stable, safe and easy to learn to use.
Canoes are generally used for adventure trips through our area rivers and preserves. They are usually available for checkout.
